Editorial Standards
Last updated: September 12, 2026
Hope needs credibility. Red Place Acres aims to amplify real reasons for hope without turning them into clickbait, copying other publishers, or exposing people who trusted us with their stories.
Original Reporting, Attribution, and Links
When Hope or Mope? highlights research, news, inventions, public projects, or reporting first published elsewhere, we aim to write our own summary or commentary, identify the original source, and link readers to it. We do not treat an article, photograph, video, graphic, or social post as free to republish merely because it is publicly accessible online.
Verification
For factual claims, we prefer primary sources such as research institutions, schools, government records, official project pages, direct interviews, or original reporting. When practical, we corroborate material with more than one reliable source. We distinguish verified facts from a contributor's personal memory, opinion, interpretation, or hope.
Youth and Vulnerable People
We apply extra care to stories about minors and vulnerable people. We avoid unnecessary home addresses, precise routines, school schedules, private contact details, medical details, or other information that creates avoidable risk. A public nomination does not guarantee publication. We may seek a parent/guardian or authorized representative's permission before identifying a minor.
Editing and Context
We may edit submissions for clarity, grammar, length, formatting, safety, sourcing, and context. We aim not to distort the contributor's meaning. Material that makes serious allegations about an identifiable person or organization may require corroboration, response, legal review, anonymization, or rejection.
Corrections
If we materially get something wrong, we want to know. Send correction requests to contact@redplaceacres.com with the page link and supporting information. We may correct, clarify, append an editor's note, or remove material when appropriate.
Independence and Promotions
Editorial selection is not for sale. If Red Place Acres later publishes sponsored or paid promotional material, we will identify it as such. A commercial relationship does not guarantee favorable editorial coverage.
Human Authorship
Hope or Mope? prioritizes human voice and lived experience. We do not accept generative-AI-written poetry or first-person narratives as authentic contributor work. Assistive tools may be used for accessibility, transcription, spelling, grammar, and similar non-substitutive purposes.
